I am currently working an intern position at Music Export Norway (MEN), and for FrostWorld Recordings. Both are temporary and I will most likely be looking for work again soon.

I look for work within the following areas:

- Bar/music venue
- Live music events
- Promoting and Marketing

- Events management
- Artist management
- Artist booking
- Record label
- Record shop
- Graphic Design

On a day to day basis, I work with promoting music and events including working for our very successful Nordic night 'Ja Ja Ja' at The Lexington, in Angel. At MEN my main tasks are contacting managers/labels, gathering and organizing our promotional work through our social media and web site. Our 'Music Export Norway UK' facebook page is now counting almost 900 fans; our number of followers has constantly increased since I took over.

I also work closely with the Norwegian Embassy in London, which uses MEN as their main source of information regarding Norwegian shows in the UK. I keep statistics on all Norwegian acts playing in the UK, and we function as an information centre and a tool for the Norwegian industry. We also administer the promotional funding offered by the embassy.

Our UK office consists only of one full time employee and myself as an intern. Because of this, I am fortunate to participate in most aspects of the company, and have gained valuable experience within all areas, from working in a music office. Music Export Norway is a state funded, non-profit company supported by the music industry.

Because of my work in MEN, and having a day-to-day dialogue with managers, labels, agents, venues and festivals, I have learned a lot about the diverse sides of the music industry. I would be very motivated to work in artist management, booking, or for a label if given a chance! Lately, I have been working on translating a very extensive guide to British music PR, written by Chris Cook (CMU). I was also invited to his CMU training course on artist promotion and media handling. I have gained very valuable knowledge through this.

I would love to work in a music venue, and I believe I can assist in many ways. I am interested in all aspects of running a venue, and in time, I wish to do so myself. I would particularly suit a position where I work either with booking of acts or promoting the venue and events, as well as assisting in any other administration work that needs to be done. I am used to being assigned all kinds of tasks in MEN, and I always find a creative and efficient solution to whatever the query might be. I would also look to get experience working behind a bar.

From end of August I have been working part time for FrostWorld Recordings, planning and coordinating a new single release and a showcase prior to this.

I have also have my own project named 'Ziggy Popular', where I have done all graphic and design work myself. I intend to take lessons in web design to be able to fully master online promotion. I graduated with a Bachelor and First Class Honours in ‘Interior Architecture and Design’ last year. My final project was the design of a music venue; this also gave me plenty of skills and experience that may come in handy working in a music venue.

Next year I see myself starting an MA in Music Business Management in London.
